THANK YOU from WELLOW BOULES
To EVERYONE that SUPPORTED US at the WELLOW SHOW
At 1pm six Village Teams from the Wellow area were huddled under a gazebo with the rain hammering down, anticipating a very wet and miserable boules tournament.
However, this is unpredictable Somerset weather and after the storm passed over, we had a great time playing in the sun.
The ever popular egg shooting was very busy……with an eggy log indicating several prizes had been won!
Two children shot straight and smashed eggs too!

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR – September 2020
Wellow Boules are pleased to be supporting the annual Village Flower & Country Show. and are looking forward to being ‘on the piste’ at the event.
We will be playing a match against local village teams and there will be an egg-off too! (see post below)
All are welcome to join in the fun between games. When you can have a go at shooting boules to try and break an egg.
Who will be first to win a bottle of wine?
My bets are on……..one of this lot…….
Here are a few photos of what turned out to be a glorious, sunny day with a large turnout of people.
Everyone enjoyed a well stocked picnic table; courtesy of all the lovely people that brought food along, for all to share.
Some great boules playing meant that Wellow Fellows were neck and neck drawn with Limpley Folk all afternoon.
The battle was bravely fought to the very last game.
Then Limpley snatched the win and the much coveted and newly refurbished ‘Golden Gauntlet’……….
‘Boules Bangers & Beer’: The Bath Grand Cru Petanque Club on Saturday 12 August 2017.
Two Teams turned out on this important day for Wellow Boules: ‘Well-Oh!’ and ‘Well-Low!’
A fun day out where lots of food, drink, sportsmanship and competitive spirit were in evidence!
It was a learning curve for Wellow Boules, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
~ Regular Boules Evenings: get together at Boules Piste, Wellow Playing Field…followed by optional trip to the pub afterwards.
